Charlie reveals the truth, that Ruby is actually her daughter and that she became pregnant when Grant Bledcoe raped her. Ruby tracks Grant down and accuses him of ruining everyone's lives. Grant tells Ruby she has convinced herself it was not consented, Charlie then kidnaps Grant to get the truth. Grant later turns up dead on the beach and Charlie and Ruby are in the frame for his murder, until Ross later admits he did it. Ruby initially finds it hard to cope with her sister Charlie's relationship with Joey Collins , but grows to accept it. Jai Fernandez, played by Jordan Rodrigues, first appeared during the episode transmitted on 19 May 2008.
Anderson was a long-time fan of Home and Away and she said she was "thrilled" when she won the role of Charlie after an audition. In November 2011, Jonathon Moran and Elle Halliwell of The Daily Telegraph announced Anderson had quit Home and Away to further her acting career in Hollywood. The following month, Inside Soap writer Sarah Ellis reported Anderson had confirmed her departure from the show. For her portrayal of Charlie, Anderson received a nomination for "Sexiest Female" at the 2008 Inside Soap Awards. That same year saw Anderson earn nominations for the "Most Popular Personality on Australian Television" and "Most Popular Actress" Logie Awards.
Ross Buckton
20 June 2013 Portrayed byEsther AndersonCharlotte "Charlie" Buckton was the daughter of the late Ross Buckton and Elsie Buckton. She was also the stepdaughter of Morag Bellingham and the mother of Ruby Buckton.

Ruby and Liam continue to act a support unit for one another. As the scholarship develops they talk to each other about "mature things that surpass a student-teacher relationship." Liam later develops feelings for Bianca Scott and Ruby is seeing Liam slip from her grasp. In another storyline her sister Charlie Buckton reveals she is in fact her mother. The reveal episode centered around Ruby interrogating Charlie about the identity of her secret child, with Charlie breaking down whilst she admits the truth. Whilst filming the episodic block, both Breeds and Anderson found the storyline challenging; furthermore they felt a responsibility to get the narrative flow and emotions perfect. Breeds said she had to let it affect her own emotions in order to affect the viewing public.

Charlie is called out to a party at a mansion and arrests Casey. Angelo is forced to leave the police force and Charlie feels guilty when she is made Sergeant. She encourages Angelo when he decides to set up a restaurant.
Ruby feels guilty for what she has done and decides to hand herself into the police. Jai's spirits are lifted when Romeo Smith , an old friend from foster care arrives to stay at Summer Bay House. He asks Romeo for his help to win Annie back but the plan backfires when Romeo allows Annie to believe he is responsible for the love poems Jai has been sending her and Jai realises Romeo wants Annie for himself.

He tells her again that it is wrong and decides to put some space between them. Ruby kisses Casey, but she later reveals she really wants to be with Romeo. She has sex with Romeo, but is devastated when he rejects her.
Jade Sutherland Oliver "Ollie" Phillips is the son of Kirsty and Kane Phillips . Ollie is first seen when Irene Roberts collects him after receiving a phone call. Irene contacts Rachel Armstrong when she discovers Ollie is running a temperature and tells Ollie not to answer any questions when he is asked. Rachel arrives and tells Irene that Ollie needs hospital treatment. In June 2013, when Brax is shot by Adam Sharpe, he falls unconscious and Charlie's ghost appears to him on a clifftop.
Axel appears to Melody as a vision when she begins having nightmares about him. Heath gets out of jail and walks in on Charlie and Brax together. Charlie tells the Inspector about her relationship with Brax, but he allows her stay with the case.
Charlie is deliberately run over by Brett during a date with Angelo. She is taken to the hospital and a doctor notices a cesarean scar. Morag confronts Charlie and she claims that she had a baby boy who died. "Absolutely I'd consider it. But everything is about timing," she said, before touching on her romance with her partner Luke Mitchell, who played Romeo on the soap. Kirsty discovers she is pregnant and breaks the news to Ollie. Ollie meets his grandmother Shelley Sutherland for the first time when she arrives to comfort Kirsty.
Some have branded her a "boyfriend-stealer", "self-absorbed" and a "randy school girl". Her storylines with Liam were partially favoured to others. Breeds has been nominated for the "Most Popular New Female Talent" and "Most Popular Actress" Logie Awards for her portrayal of Ruby.

She warns Brax that he is in danger and that night he is poisoned by Adam in the hospital, causing him to go into a coma. Charlie appears to Brax again and he explains that he is tired of fighting. He wishes to remain with her, saying that his brothers no longer need him.
Martin arranges a school trek in memory of Dan Baker on the anniversary of his death for some of the students to take part in. Jai and Annie disappear much to his ire and things are exacerbated when Trey Palmer holds the everybody hostage by planting a bomb underneath the bus. The strain of recent events becomes apparent and Martin leaves for a cruise but not before appointing Gina Austin new principal.

After Roman complies and drinks the flask he finds himself hanging upside down from a cliff edge. Ross is determined to expose Jack and Martha as Sam's murderers but is unable to when Morag Bellingham proves that Sam committed suicide and he is forced to drop the charges. It is soon revealed that Ross and Morag were previously involved in a relationship after the collapse of Morag's marriage to Richard . Martin learns of Kirsty's relationship with Miles and he fires her but writes her a reference enabling her to get a job at the sands resort. Things escalate when Miles discovers Kirsty is working as an escort at the Sands, where Martin is paying for such services, leading to a confrontation between Miles and Martin.
